Epic Universe delivers $2B economic boost
Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, Epic Universe, opened in May and has already created 65,000 construction jobs and 17,500 ongoing roles. A UCF study estimates a $2 billion impact in its first year, bolstered by three new hotels, thousands of rooms, and attractions spanning Harry Potter, Super Nintendo, and How to Train Your Dragon.
Oktoberfest returns October 4th
Celebrate German culture with food, music, and Volkswagens at the 25th annual Oktoberfest at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center, Saturday, Oct. 4, 3–9pm. Highlights include the Wiener Dog Race at 6pm (sponsored by Banfield Pet Hospital) and a canned goods drive for Treasure Coast Food Bank.
Florida SBDC Small Business Summit draws 500+
The Small Business Success Summit in Tampa (Aug. 18–19) brought together entrepreneurs from across the state for keynotes, breakout sessions, and a Reverse Trade Show with 22 agencies. Hosted by the Florida SBDC Network, the sold-out event will return in Charlotte Harbor, Aug. 17–18, 2026.

5th Annual Out Run Hunger 5K
Saturday, Sept. 20, 7am–1pm at Causeway Cove Marina, Fort Pierce. This fun walk/run benefits Treasure Coast Food Bank, which serves 250,000 residents each week.
Participants get a T-shirt, finisher medal, swag bag, and chip timing.
