🐝 What’s Buzzing: Local News
Florida added 7,600 jobs in August
Construction (+3,600), information (+2,300), and manufacturing (+1,700) led statewide growth. Florida’s unemployment rate stayed at 3.8%, below the national average for nearly five years. The state also ranked #1 in workforce development on the 2025 Talent Attraction Scorecard. More than 459,000 jobs were listed online as of August.
Exports reach $1.9B in FY 2024-25
SelectFlorida reported a record $1.9B in export sales, up $500M from last year. Nearly 1,900 small businesses were assisted through trade programs, with 98 companies receiving export grants. Foreign investment also added 2,500 jobs statewide.
My Brothers BBQ relocates
The beloved local BBQ joint is moving from Tulip Blvd. to the former Shindig Irish Pub location at 464 SW PSL Blvd., Suite 115. While no opening date is announced yet, signage and early preparations are underway.

⚡ The Spotlight: Changemakers
Harmony Hope Stables
Located on 5 acres in Palm City, this nonprofit combines music activities and equine-assisted learning to bring harmony, hope, and healing to youth in need. Programs provide a safe space for children coping with autism, ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, or past trauma. Teens can also earn volunteer hours while helping with programs.
With your support, Harmony Hope Stables can provide therapy to more children on its waiting list. A new program, The Truth About Drugs Series for teens & tweens, is coming soon.
